Why choose Uppsala International School?

We recognise that students cannot learn unless they feel safe. As a community, we work hard to ensure our students enjoy a school free from any form of violence, bullying or discrimination.

We firmly believe that happy students learn better, engaging in a more meaningful way, and thereby get the most out of their school experience. Which is why ensuring the all-round wellbeing and mental health of our pupils is one of our top priorities.

Your child will discover the best possible environment for learning. Our schools are designed for comfort and well-being, and feature modern facilities for sport, study and the arts.

UIS will provide a safe, reliable and efficient transport service for students. Transport application forms will be presented at the point of admission. For further information please contact our admissions office. More information will be offered during the parents’ meeting.

We follow the broad and balanced Cambridge International curriculum, delivering an “International Education” in English to students aged 6 to 18. Cambridge qualifications are widely recognized and valued by universities and employers worldwide, ensuring a solid foundation for your child’s future.

Our education programme leads to IGCSE (at age 16) and A Level (at age 18) examinations. These qualifications are highly respected and recognized by universities and employers globally, opening doors to a world of opportunities for our graduates.

All lessons are conducted in English, and we offer additional language support for students who may require it, ensuring a smooth transition and optimal academic progress. Additionally, Swedish language lessons are taught daily as a school subject, catering to families who wish to make Sweden their home while keeping the option of an international move open.

At UIS, we believe that outstanding teachers are essential for an outstanding school. Our highly qualified educators possess extensive professional experience, ensuring the delivery of a high-standard education for our students.

We prioritize design and computational thinking, cutting-edge robotics, coding, and digital fluency, incorporating them into all learning experiences. Students have the opportunity to explore robotics, coding, programming, and technology to enhance their learning journeys. We are continually seeking innovative ways to bring subjects and ideas to life.

Our assessments are designed to be fair, valid, reliable, and practicable, so that every Cambridge exam provides a true picture of a student’s ability. Our assessments have real, lasting value and can be a lifelong passport to further study or employment.

We provide a varied schedule with lots of opportunities for students to be personally ambitious. Our After School Activities programme (ASAs) cover physical, academic, creative and performing arts from learning to play, being part of the school council and forming part of the musical school theatre

At UIS, we celebrate diversity and foster an inclusive environment that embraces students from various backgrounds, nationalities, and abilities. The rich multicultural mix positively influences the entire learning environment, and we set high standards for all our students, both inside and outside the classroom.

We keep parents informed about their children’s progress, and our faculty and staff work alongside parents to provide an inclusive and responsive education that guides students towards reaching their highest potential. By working together, we can enrich your child’s educational journey.
