Curriculum Overview

At Uppsala International School (UIS), we provide high quality international education for students aged 3-19 following the International Cambridge curriculum within a modern and well-equipped campus.

Cambridge Pathway

Our Cambridge Pathway is for students aged 3 to 19. Cambridge Pathway students have the chance to acquire the knowledge and skills they need to achieve at school, university and beyond.

The five stages lead seamlessly from primary to secondary and pre-university years. Each stage – Cambridge Early Years, Cambridge Primary, Cambridge Lower Secondary, Cambridge Upper Secondary and Cambridge Advanced – builds on the learners’ development from the previous one, but can also be offered separately.

 IGCSE is the world’s most popular international qualifcation for 14 to 16 year olds. It is taken in over 140 countries and in more than 4500 schools around the world.

IGCSE is a great foundation for further study, including Cambridge International AS & A Level, Cambridge Pre-U and other post-16 routes.

IGCSE qualifcation is recognised by leading universities around the world and employers view it as a valuable certifcate of achievement.

Cambridge International A Level is typically a two-year course, and Cambridge International AS Level is typically one year.

Our Cambridge International AS & A Levels are designed for students worldwide, including those whose frst language is not English. Assessment takes place at the end of the course, and gives students a variety of ways to show their knowledge and skills.

Thousands of learners gain places at leading universities around the world with the   International AS & A Levels every year. They are a passport to success.

BTEC, the acronym for the British and Technology Education Council, is a specialist work-related qualification which, like the IBCP, combines practical learning with subject and theory content. This is the ideal pathway for those who wish to hone their professional skills prior to entering the workplace or going to university.

An international Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma is a two-year qualification equivalent to three A-Levels. International BTEC qualifications are accepted at many universities around the world.
